Port Douglas Wedding Photography / Carla + Ashley's Wedding
Carla and Ashley with their fun-filled family and friends travelled from Warragul, country Victoria to celebrate their destination wedding day in tropical North Queensland at Port Douglas. Warragul is approximately 100km east of Melbourne and quite the distance to travel but this did not hold back their family and friends from showing Carla + Ashley how much they meant to them.
I’m sure the location for Carla + Ashley’s wedding was much to the disappointment of their dogs, horses and other menagerie of animals who were present at the proposal but then left behind, without a guernsey, for the big wedding event. Ashley rallied together their pets for support to help him pop the question to Carla. With the dogs as witnesses, Carla said “Yes”.
Carla, Ashley and their family and friends made a holiday of the event together in Port Douglas, arriving early and staying on in the various beautiful resorts around Port Douglas after the wedding day. The wedding celebrations went beyond just the day and no doubt will be a time in their lives they will remember fondly forever.
I met up with Carla + Ashley for a chat and cuppa before their wedding day and by pure coincidence Carla’s family arrived at the same location and Ashley’s family was already there too. By seeing them around their family before their wedding day I quickly got a real insight into how special these two are.
It is not surprising that these two gorgeous people are so warm and friendly having been raised by such warm and friendly families.
The feeling at their wedding day was one of a true country celebration….it was cheerful, generous, relaxed and lots of fun. The décor matched a country/vintage theme and was set in the very appropriate Sugar Wharf at Port Douglas. The Sugar Wharf is just perfect for a vintage/country/rustic feel. Weddings there have an amazing ambiance and are a true pleasure to photograph.
Very soon, Carla and Ashley will welcome their baby daughter into the world. Carla was a glowing, gorgeous 7.5 months pregnant at the time of her wedding. I know they will be wonderful parents and Baby AshCar is one lucky human being, going to be born into such a wonderful extended family.
I wish this very lovely couple, their bubba girl and pets many happy and healthy years together.
