Atherton Tablelands Wedding Photography / Melissa + Calan 's Wedding
What a wonderful start to 2017.
Amazingly, Melissa and Calan organised their entire wedding within 3 weeks. I think everyone should give them a hearty clap as they read this because it was a remarkable effort. Despite the short time frame, it could not have been more perfect.
I strongly believe it is the realness of things that makes them perfect not controlling things to be perfect.
Everything about their day felt authentic and real. First and foremost their excitement to publicly announce and commit to sharing a life together, creating a family and growing old together felt so real. It was super easy to photograph connection, friendship, playfulness, sincerity and tenderness between Mel and Cal because it is so strong between them. I didn’t need to give any directions, they just make a wonderful couple with a connection that is so natural.
In my imagination, I can see Mel + Cal in their old age on rocking chairs on a verandah, Cal making silly faces at Mel and both of them belly laughing, surrounded by warm and loving grandchildren. I might be skipping a few steps and being a bit cheeky but this pair are so well suited. I can see them building a long lasting and endearing family together. I do hope I can be their family life photographer capturing all these special milestones ....I really enjoyed meeting you both and your families.
Cal’s Dad, Tom, summed it up well to me on the wedding day whilst traveling in the car with him, nothing really phases Mel. Both of them in fact, have an amazing outlook and attitude of not sweating the small stuff and focusing on things that really matter. You could tell that what really mattered to Mel and Cal was to have those they really loved sharing their wedding day.
It was a wonderful day. We had rain and more rain but it didn’t rain on the mood. Everyone was in such great spirits and were there to really support and show love for Mel and Cal.
Much love to you Mel and Cal. I know you will make a happy and warm life together!
I hope you enjoy the capture of your special day through my lens.

The other vendors helped make the day amazing:
Cake - most importantly because it was made with extra love by Cal’s super talented sister Jenna. You should check it out in the photographs. It was gorgeous. Jenna has a specialty cake making business, "FGT Catering". She can deliver to Cairns, Palm Cove and Atherton Tablelands for wedding cakes. I highly recommend her. Check out her facebook page:

Venue – totally amazing Foxwell Park Lodge. It was my first time to photograph a wedding here and I was very impressed. So beautiful and charming. The staff are super friendly too. Want to know more, check out their website:

Flowers – the flowers really fitted in with the country garden theme. The Dahlias and David Austen Roses were gorgeous. These were thoughtfully supplied and arranged by "A Touch of Class" located in Atherton.
